Meet our Dance Instructors

Susan Winter - Clark
Susan Winter - Clark, Director
 is the owner and proprietor of Susan Winter School of Dance.  Susan's dance career began when she was 4 years of age under the direction of Louise Crowley in Taunton. She then went on to study at several Boston dance studios and New York workshops to further her dance education.  At the age of 19 she passed the audition to become a Radio City Music Hall "Rockette".


The first studio opened in 1980 on Main St. in Taunton, MA with 80 Students, before moving to the second floor of the Raynham Athletic Club where over 500 Taunton area students learn to dance.  


Susan resides in Taunton with her husband Bob, and sons Jonathan and Ben.

started her training at her aunt’s studio, Starline School of Dance in Plainville when she was 2. As a teen she attended The State Ballet of Rhode Island where she studied classical ballet and pas de deux. After a couple years she was promoted to soloist and performed in many classical ballets. At SBRI she was chosen to perform  the "Spanish Dance" in the Nutcracker with The Moscow Ballet.

Sue graduated from Dean College with a degree in Dance.  After college she performed as Princess Jasmine and a dancer with Disney at the Wang Center in Boston and Lope de Vega in Madrid, Spain for the premiere of Pocahontas. After the European tour, she landed a job working at Tokyo Disneyland in Japan, once again as Princess Jasmine and also as Esmeralda for The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Her last special event for Disney was a national televised production for the premiere of Hercules.  She was alongside 49 other dancers performing on 42nd street.

Sue "T" has thoroughly enjoyed teaching dance for almost two decades. She is excited to be "Artistic Director" in her 13th season with Susan Winter School of Dance.  Sue resides with her family on Cape Cod.


Meghan Kennedy -  Meghan has been teaching for nineteen years and has received several honor awards for her dance works.  Meghan’s work this past season received best choreography, United We Dance and most entertaining at the regional and national competition level.  She has won several title awards for her performance in Dance as well as in Gymnastics.  In the summer of 2000 one of her dance teams performed in Canada at an International Dance Competition.  This team won the highest honors with a perfect and Meghan also won the choreography award.  She has performed with Christina Aguilera in the MLS halftime show, performed at Walt Disney World, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Hershey Park, the Boston Garden and was a featured dancer for the Soul City All Stars.  Meghan was the recipient of the Danny / Betty Hoctor excellence in Dance award in 2004.  This award is a lifetime achievement award.  Meghan was a professional cheerleader for the NFL for four years, which during this time, she had the opportunity to perform at Super Bowl XXXVI in New Orleans, entertain troops at Eglin Air Force base in Florida as well as Fort Hood Texas.  She has won several honors which include line captain award and most talented professional cheerleader.  She is currently in her sixth season as the Varsity Cheerleading coach at Bishop Stang School. Meghan is excited to be a member of the Susan Winter School of Dance faculty and share her passion and love for dance with the students!


Courtney CarasCourtney Caras is a graduate of Bridgewater University with a double major in Elementary Education and Art- Fine Arts. She has been dancing since the age of 5 at Kiley School of Dance, then continued at Mandy Locke Studio of Dance. She has assisted at Mandy Locke Studio of Dance since she was 12 years old, from that Courtney became a teacher for Mandy Locke in the fall of 2007 and is now continuing with the Susan Winter School of Dance. In addition, Courtney has taken several types of dance classes at Bridgewater State College to further her experience in the dance field.

Jennifer Thomas - Jen started dancing at the age of 2, at Sherry Gold’s Dance School in Middleboro, and at age 8 joined the Susan Winter School of Dance. She basically grew up with Susan and the rest of the studio family and has so many cherished memories here!

After high school, she went on to Dean College where she majored in Dance and Emerson College where she studied Musical Theater and Communications.  She has been teaching dance for 18 years at Susan Winter School of Dance and throughout that time has also done a lot of independent choreography for various theatre groups and schools.  Her choreography credits include: ‘Annie Get Your Gun‘, ‘South Pacific‘, ‘Bye Bye Birdie‘, ‘Annie‘, ‘Cinderella‘, That’s Entertainment 24, 25 and 26, Lets Go To The Movies, as well as other independent pieces she has done for the Middleboro High School Student Council. 

Jen resides in Middleboro with her husband Greg and their children Bridgette, Hayden, and Natalie.

Liana Joy began dancing at the age of 3 at Susan Winter School of Dance and she has been assisting and teaching for the last 15 years. Over the last 27 years, Liana has  made many friends through the studio and considers them her second family.  Although she enjoys and appreciates all kinds of dance, her favorite is tap. She graduated from Bridgewater State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies.  She is also an Administrative Assistant at a law firm in Brockton.  When she is not at work or dance she enjoys baking and cooking
